Dr. Sherri Wise

Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Dr. Sherri Wise attended the University of Manitoba where she obtained an Advanced Bachelor of Arts and Science in 1991. After moving to Chicago, she attended Northwestern Dental School where she graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1995. Upon graduation, Dr. Wise moved to Vancouver to do a one-year dental residency at Vancouver General Hospital. She has been practicing general dentistry in Vancouver since 1997.

Dr. Wise has extensive experience in geriatric dentistry, attained by volunteering her time for over 10 years to long-term care facilities. Dr. Wise is a member of the Canadian Dental Association, American Dental Association, and is an active member of the Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity. Her commitment to attending continuing education courses and workshops enables her to provide the ultimate in dental care and prevention.

When Dr. Wise is not spending time in the office, volunteering, or in Continuing Education classes, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, watching movies, and just enjoying life.

Dr. George Bonev

Unlike most people, my first encounter with the world of dentistry was not associated with fear and anxiety. I still remember my first dentist who is by far one of the funniest people I have known. Fast-forward 10 years to the age of 16, and my decision was made (to the amazement of my parents): I wanted to be like my dentist.

Upon graduation from the Dental School at the Medical University of Sofia, Bulgaria in 1994, I practiced all aspects of general dentistry. It was also at that time that I realized that the most important skill in our field is the ability to relate to people and make them feel at ease.

After moving to Vancouver in 2000 I worked as a consultant for one of the leading manufacturers of dental materials, and in 2005 I earned my Canadian dental degree at the University of Manitoba Dental School.

Besides practicing high-quality general dentistry, I find it extremely rewarding when my patients tell me that all their dental phobias are a thing of the past.

I have been working as the office manager/ receptionist at this location for over 21 years, and for Dr. Sherri Wise for the past 7. When you call our office to make an appointment, I will usually be the one answering your call- you'll recognize me by my English accent. Having been in dentistry for many years, I have seen many changes. I am excited to work with our great team, and all the new procedures and technology we have in our office today. I have been working as a dental receptionist for over 7 years, and joined Dr. Wise's team in October, 2009. I am always happy to answer your questions about dentistry, as I love learning about new technologies and procedures in dentistry, and sharing them with patients. Dr. Wise and Dr. Bonev are great dentists to work for, and especially great with kids. We will make sure you leave our office with a BIG smile!

I’m Dr. Wise’s Hygienist on Monday through Wednesday and Saturday. I began working in this office 21 years ago, and joined Dr. Wise’s team 7 years ago. We value our long-term patients and enjoy meeting the new patients who come to our practice. This is truly a great and relaxing environment to work in, and I know that makes it just as relaxing for you the patient.

I work for Dr. Wise on Fridays, and think the office is just great. I enjoy all the patients and I enjoy working with all the other staff members. I have been a Hygienist for 11 years, and work with Dr. Bonev on Thursdays. I love dentistry. The staff here cares about your needs and concerns which makes working here a breeze, and the clients we serve are really great people. I got involved with dentistry when I was 10 years old–I got braces! When it came time for my dental appointment, my dentist asked me what I was going to be when I grew up. I said, "You!" So she said, "well then, you'd better brush your teeth!" I have repeated that same advice to countless people over the years. I hope that we can make your visit a relaxing and educational one.
